The Otterbein Campus Center hosts the 2016-2017 school year’s annual First Friday Festival.
The First Friday Festival is a mix of organizations and local business getting to know to potential customers and members during a three-hour event. With over 90 different tables, the range in variety of booths went from barbecue restaurants to local tattoo parlors and CrossFit gyms.
“It’s a great event. Our biggest and best First Friday yet,” said Vice President and Dean for Student Affairs Bob Gatti.
Capping off the first week of classes at Otterbein each year, the First Friday Festival is a chance for new students to see all the different opportunities available to them.
Several local businesses set up booths and offered a variety of free samples. Jet’s Pizza gave out free slices, the O.R.C.A running club had cookies, Shirley’s Gourmet Popcorn had small cups of their more popular styles and much more.
Karagan Ross, a first-year pre-zoo and conservation science major, was surprised by the amount of different things one could get involved in.
“It’s pretty cool that there’s a bunch of different things, like there's anything that you could want,” said Ross.
