Otterbein radio station to take part in the seventh annual College Radio Day.
On Friday October 6th, the WOBN 97.5 staff will be joining hundreds of other student-led radio stations for World College Radio Day. The WOBN staff will be hosting a wide array of radio shows for 24 hours consecutively.
“It’s a fun way to bring awareness to college radio,” said Tiffany Steel, senior journalism and media communication major and general manager of WOBN.
Starting at midnight, a cast of 14 different DJs will be on air throughout the day discussing multiple topics and featuring several genres of music. These range from a top 40 hits show called Shuffle Mode to an hour of all things country music with Campus Country.
According to The College Radio Foundation, the founding organization behind the movement, College Radio Day is meant to raise awareness for high school and college radio stations that operate across the world.
College Radio Day will begin at 12 a.m. Friday Oct. 6 and listen to WOBN The Wildcard at 97.5 FM, see it streaming live on the Otterbein TV Youtube page and listen live online at WOBN.net.
