Chief of police brings campus safety awareness to Otterbein

Larry Banaszak, chief of police, advises how to stay safe in a campus emergency or violent incident

Would you know what to do if there was ever a violent incident or campus emergency?

Recent violent attacks at North Lake College in Texas and Grambling State University in Louisiana show that now is a crucial time for students, faculty and staff to be prepared for the possibility of a violent incident. Larry Banaszak, chief of police for the Otterbein Police Department, has suggestions for how the Otterbein community can stay safe on campus.

The Otterbein Police Department will hold safety information sessions and trainings throughout the month of November at various locations. Specific dates, times and locations include November 6th from 1:30 to 2:30p.m. in Towers 112, November 8th from 3 to 4p.m. in Towers 110, and November 21st from 2 to 3p.m. in Roush 114.
