The Otterbein women’s soccer team won their home opening game with a 3-0 victory over Ohio Wesleyan University.
With the win, Otterbein improves to 3-2 in the season.
The outset of the scoring for the Cardinals started with freshman foward Delaney Earl. Earl was able to convert a goal off a deflection from Ohio Wesleyan’s goalkeeper.
In the first half, Otterbein continued to put pressure on the Battling Bishops, but went into the intermission leading just 1-0.
In the second half, the Cardinals extended their lead to 2-0 when sophomore Emily Ganz converted her second goal of the season on a penalty kick. Soon after, sophomore Priscilla Severance placed a pass to sophomore Myiah Kelley, who went on to score the goal extending their lead to 3-0.
Otterbein was strong on defense in limiting the Battling Bishops’ offensive attack.
The Cardinals play host to Wittenberg next Tuesday at 7 p.m.
