The Otterbein volleyball team adds to their 5-0 Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) record after their win at Heidelberg on Saturday.
The Cardinals came out on top in the fifth set, winning the match 3-2 on Saturday afternoon at a tri-match hosted by Heidelberg. They extended their winning streak to 13 before getting defeated by Albion College 0-3.
The team hosted the John Carroll Blue Streaks this past Wednesday, extending their streak to 12 games.
“We are winning because we are playing together, not individually," said senior Hadley Sterett. "We've done a great job with that this year. Everyone is all in. That's what it takes to win a championship.”
Sterett, as well as fellow senior Alana King-Mendenhall, led their team in both offense and defense.
“As a team we play with a 'chip on our shoulder' because we weren't picked to win the OAC, and this definitely drives our competitive spirit," said King-Mendenhall. "We have built a strong trust and bond with each other to give us confidence on the floor. I wouldn't say there is any pressure because we focus on one game at a time. We don't really acknowledge our streak but are more focused on the next competitor we play.”
The team will look to continue their OAC win streak when they face Wilmington University Tuesday night.
