This past weekend at Otterbein was full of sports successes and shortcomings as three different teams had matches over the weekend.
Women’s volleyball opened up the weekend with an early morning match against the fighting Muskies of Muskingum University, winning three sets to one. Outside hitter Hadley Sterett lead the Cards with 16 kills to keep the team unbeaten in the Ohio Athletic Conference standings. The Cards would go on to face nationally ranked Thomas More later that afternoon, putting up a strong fight but ultimately losing three sets to one.
Men’s soccer also faced the Muskies this weekend. No goals were scored in the first half, but the Cards turned it around in the second half, scoring five goals. Junior midfielder Eric Stuckey led the team with two goals. The Muskies only scored one goal in the 65th minute.
Both the volleyball and men's soccer teams honored their senior players before their respective final games.
The Cardinal football team played at Muskingum University this weekend, where the team was met with their sixth loss of the season, 21-14.
The volleyball team will host Ohio Northern this Tuesday at 7 p.m. Men’s soccer will also host Ohio Northern this Wednesday at 7 p.m. The football team will host rival Capital University this Saturday at 1:30 p.m.
