Otterbein University's radio station WOBN will be broadcasting for 24 hours this Friday on Oct. 4th. College Radio Day is an annual event that radio stations across the nation participate in. WOBN’s student-run staff is getting ready for the day by creating a schedule of shows to air on the station all day.
WOBN will air tributes of Otterbein’s Janice Windborne who died this past May. Windborne was the adviser of WOBN from 2006 to 2017. During College Radio Day WOBN will be setting aside time to honor and celebrate Windborne’s memory with alumni’s stories and music dedications. Two tribute shows will air at 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.
WOBN will also broadcast different shows including a ‘Rookie Hour’ for students who are being trained in radio. The shows will have a variety of music and conversations throughout the day.
Tune in to WOBN 97.5 The Wildcard to catch the 9th annual College Radio Day here at Otterbein. The shows will start at 12 a.m. and will wrap at 12 a.m on Saturday.
