The man, the myth, the legend.
As we creep closer to the end of the spring semester, I spend more and more time in the library preparing for the dreaded finals week.
With the Cowan Hall’s Fritsche Theatre still under construction after a broken pipe destroyed the stage and dressing rooms, this semester’s theatrical performances have had no other choice than to alter their production plans.
After water damage in Cowan Hall forced Otterbein Theatre Department’s production of “Our Town” to change location last minute, students and faculty alike have been curious about the status of the Otterbein Spring Musical, “Bright Star”. After much contemplation from Otterbein Theatre faculty decided that Bright Star will be held in the Campus Center “Pit” Theatre without extending the number of performances. The production team must now decipher how the will fit an entire orchestra in this small space, how set pieces will work, how they can accommodate everyone who has purchased tickets, and how a major show will work in such a small space. In addition, the story will provide an update on the construction to fix Cowan Hall.
Developing a class-wide art exhibition that individualizes and highlights each student's work is the last mission Otterbein art students are tasked to complete before their departure.
A play once scheduled to perform in a theater seating 1,047 will now take place in a black box theater seating only 244.
