On a chilly Thursday afternoon in Westerville, the Cardinal baseball team had their hot start cooled off by the Bishops of Ohio Wesleyan. After trading runs early, the Bishops were able to use Cardinal errors to build an insurmountable lead, winning the game 14-5.

Otterbein University’s administration continues to speak about transparency as an important tenet of their values. This is reflected in campaigns such as the Model Community and in the rhetoric of the administration. However, we believe that Otterbein’s policies as they stand fail to uphold these values and, therefore, the interests of its students.

The Cardinals spent spring break in Florida, racking up a 9-1 record, before returning to Ohio, where they defeated La Roche to improve to 10-1, their best start in school history. On Wednesday, Otterbein played at Fishbaugh Field for the first time in 2015, recording a hard fought 10-9 victory over Wittenberg.

It was officially announced Thursday afternoon that Todd Adrian has resigned as men’s basketball coach at Otterbein. Adrian, who just completed his third season at the helm, finished his tenure with an overall record of 15-63.

An official report on the crash that killed Otterbein student Patrick “PJ” Cleary was released by the Ohio State Highway Patrol over the weekend.
It has been nearly a week since the fatal car crash that killed Otterbein student PJ Cleary and 35-year-old Richard Birney. The university has still not released an official statement regarding the incident. We believe that this is not only a fault on the hands of Otterbein’s administration, but uncharacteristic of the Model Community the university promotes.
