'Marshall' is hard to forget

Kristen Bell and Jason Segel deliver side-splitting performances in the "ultimate romantic disaster movie," which left the theatre audience roaring with laughter and wanting more.

"Forgetting Sarah Marshall" packs comedy from start to finish as it follows the diminishing five-year relationship of Peter Bretter (Segel), a musical composer, and his girlfriend Sarah Marshall (Bell), who is the star of a detective series on television.

Bretter cannot imagine his life without Marshall, stating time and time again that they were made for one another. But when Marshall drops the bomb that she has been seeing rock-star Aldous Snow, played by Russell Brand, not even a full frontal exposure from Bretter could save the relationship.

A crushed Bretter turns to his step-brother, played by Bill Hader for some tender loving care.

After going to a couple bars and partaking in a few evenings that were less than enjoyable, brother Bretter plants the seed that Peter should take some time off and get away for awhile, since he is having such a difficult time, to say the least, getting over her.

This idea leads Bretter away from the mainland and to the state of Hawaii, where he hopes to get away from everything "Sarah Marshall."

However he doesn't have much luck when he learns that he is staying at the same resort that Marshall had checked into with her new beau.

There are nothing but laughs from this point forward as Mila Kunis appears on the big screen as the hotel concierge Rachel Jansen.

After checking into the resort, Bretter partakes in many enjoyable and hysterical events, that at times left the audience cringing in their seats.

Some of these memorable events include a beach party, a singing performance by Segel, and a dinner date at the resort. All of these make for a relatable and hilarious performances by Segel.

Not only does this film include a cast of comedic geniuses, including performances by Jonah Hill ("Superbad"), as a resort waiter, and Paul Rudd ("Knocked Up"), as a surf instructor, it also has creative and truly memorable one-liners from first-time writer Jason Segel.

Much of the cast is recognizable from other memorable comedies, which is not by mistake. The film is produced by Judd Apatow, who is known for bringing comedy to the masses.

Some of his other box office hits include "40-Year Old Virgin," "Knocked Up," "Superbad" and "Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy."

Although this film is exceptionally entertaining, there are a few specific raunchy scenes and quite a bit of play on sexual humor, which made even the adults in the audience blush. Knowing this, it may not be suitable for your younger siblings or your grandma.

This film delivers a fresh new take on the typical break-up story, and is definitely worth the time and money to go see. You won't be disappointed. t&c;
