My Column Smells Like French Toast. French Toast?

This is hard. There, get your "that's what she said" comment out of your head right now. There will be no more of that.

But seriously, it is. Right now I'm writing the first column after Lucas Buck's last column.

That's like batting 7th for the 1927 New York Yankees.

Trying to follow the likes of Earle Combs, Mark Koenig, Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Bob Meusel and Tony Lazzeri is not easy.

All of those guys are either in the baseball Hall of Fame, or at least should be.

If Otterbein had a Hall of Fame, Lucas Buck would be a first ballot shoo-in.

But someone had to bat after those awesome players. Joe Dugan did it back then and I am doing it now.

But first how about I tell you a little about myself. I am a junior from Salem, Ohio, which is near Youngstown, and I am a broadcasting and journalism double major.

I love every facet of the sports world. My favorite teams are: The Cleveland Indians, The Browns, Ohio State football (by osmosis), Duke basketball, The Cavs and the Blackburn Rovers.

Dick Reynolds is the Pat Summit of Otterbein College.

Terrelle Pryor is a lot like a kid I went to high school with named Joe Shivers. Joe scored a 35 or 36 on his ACT and everybody wanted him. Joe went to Harvard.

Emilee Appis played her senior year of volleyball after having Lymphoma in her arm. That is the definition of a Cardinal.

I hope in a year or two C. Brent Devore comes out of retirement and reassumes his position of president. He'll wear a T-shirt with the number 45 on it. Everywhere.

Tyler Ousley's "shot heard 'round the world" buzzer beater to beat Ohio Northern in the OAC tournament last year is my favorite sports moment of my life.

It also is the most embarrassing moment of my life because I jumped into Andy Fries' arms and gave him a bloody nose.

Now that you know me and some of my thoughts on stuff, I want to know you, the reader.

This column is open to anyone who has an opinion about Otterbein sports.

Email me either at my Otterbein e-mail account or at tanandcardinalsports@yahoo.com.

Columns should be about 400 to 500 words in length. The column can be about anything pertaining to Otterbein sports.

I want people to read the sports section when they could care less about sports.

Hopefully, when they are done reading, they still might not care about sports, but they enjoyed reading about sports.

Remember Otterbein e-mail or tanandcardinalsports@yahoo.com. t&c;
