All OC sports finish for the year

It has been a crazy year in Otterbein - and world - sports. We have seen triumph, with the football team beating Capital while they were ranked 6th in the nation and the women's golf team's first appearance in the national championship. We have seen electrifying plays. Sara Fee's "shot heard 'round the Rike' - a half-court shot to beat Capital - will not soon be forgotten. What a year it has been. Covering all of these games for Otterbein media is so much fun; I enjoy every second of it. Here are some of my favorite moments from the past year. Otterbein's win over Capital was one of the more boring football games I've ever watched. I loved every bit of it, but it was still kind of boring. Matt D'Orazio (see page 8), who was calling the game in the next box over for Columbus Sports Network, was also feeling it. He was struggling behind the mic, calling the game in between yawns. The highlight of that day however, was the chest bump he gave me in the press box after the game. Sara Fee's half-court buzzer beater was pretty cool. Even though I wasn't there, I still was shocked by it. It was even cooler to see it featured on NBC 4's sportscast later that night. Watching Ross Banaszak play basketball was one of the most incredible things I have ever witnessed. To watch him play will all that heart and keeping in mind the massive responsibility he has on his plate, was amazing. He was the smallest guy on the court and he led the OAC in scoring. Allyson Tobin received her second All-American title for outdoor track in the shot put. She is also a three-time All-American in indoor track. That makes her a five-time All-American, which speaks for itself. Dan Remenowsky was named the Great Lakes Region Pitcher of the Year by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association. Watching hitters fear his fastball was a unique experience. Batters weren't swinging to hit the ball, they were swinging in self defense. Lucas Buck's final Cardinal Sports Wrap on WOBN almost made me choke up. Lucas, Tyler Stephen and Paul Stelzer relived some of the best moments in Otterbein sports and I was there for a lot of the events. I realized how much of a privilege it is to be there. Lucas Buck and Tyler Stephen have taught me so much about broadcasting and sports in general that it is hard to measure. I am going to miss those guys, a lot. Now that this year is almost over I am excited for summer. I am excited to do absolutely nothing. But, at the same time, I can't wait for next year to come so I can dive back into Otterbein sports. Congratulations go out to all the seniors in all the sports, you all have had great careers. Thanks for letting me be a part of it, we'll miss you. t&c;
