From Jerry Springer to Ben & Jerry's, everyone has their favorite political figure.

With the summer and the presidential race heating up, everyone is waiting to find out who the nominees will be.

The democratic candidacy is close to being decided. Between, Puerto Rico, Montana and South Dakota 86 delegate votes are left. All three primaries will be held the first week of June.

Barack Obama needs only 48 more votes to reach the 2,026 needed to win the nomination for president.

With 1,780 votes Hillary Clinton would need 246 more. Although, Clinton cannot win enough votes to claim the majority, she can still take enough to keep Obama from winning it as well.

In the event that neither candidate claims the majority of votes, another ballot will be cast. According to the Democratic National Convention Web site, this hasn't happened since 1952, when Adlai Stevenson claimed the nomination after three ballots. The Democratic candidate will be decided at the national convention held Aug. 25-28 in Denver, CO.

Meanwhile, the Republican Party seems to have already named John McCain as their 2008 candidate. The Republican National Convention's Web site refers to him as their "presumed" nominee. The GOP will officially name their candidate at the convention held Sep. 1-4 in Minneapolis-Saint Paul, MN.

When both parties have their candidates they will contend against each other for the presidency until the national election on Nov. 4.
