This weekend in sports both men’s and women’s basketball will begin their conference play.
The men’s basketball team who came into the season with high expectations has started off to a struggling start with a 1-3 record. They will travel to Mount Union to face the Purple Raiders that have a 3-2 overall record. The only win for the men’s basketball team came over Westminister College in their debut game on Nov. 18 winning 94-92. This match is set to begin at 4 p.m. in Alliance, OH.
The women will also face Mount Union but will be doing so on their home court. The women who came into the season tied with Capital University for fourth place in the OAC coaches poll find themselves on a 5 game winning streak giving them a 5-0 overall record. The purple raiders will be coming to Otterbein with a record of 5-0 themselves. The lady Purple Raiders were ranked number first in the OAC coaches’ poll and knocked Otterbein out in the first round of the OAC conference tournament last season. The match is set to begin at 3 p.m. in Westerville, OH.
