Otterbein continued their impressive performance into the second match of the Otterbein/Capital tournament tonight defeating Trine University in three straight sets.
In the first set, Otterbein came out strong, starting the game on a 7-3 run.
Trine mounted a last-chance surge, but the Thunder were unsuccessful as the Cards took the first set, 25-14.
Early in the second set, the teams went back and forth with the first 13 points of the game.
Down 7-6, Otterbein went on a 6-1 run, setting the tone for the rest of the set, winning it, 25-21.
In the third set Otterbein jumped out to a an early seven-point lead.
However, enduring another late charge by Trine, Otterbein would finish on a 4-1 run, winning the set, and the match, 25-19.
The Cards will continue the Otterbein/Capital tournament Saturday at 9:30 AM and noon in the Rike Center.
