The Otterbein Cardinal baseball team remained a perfect 5-0 on their spring break trip to Fort
Myers, Fla. and extended their win streak to eight games.

In the first game of their third day of play they played Nichols College out of Massachusetts.
Taking the mound for the Cardinals and making his first collegiate start was sophomore Taylor
Ellis. He pitched five innings, gave up two hits, walked two batters and struck out three.

Following bullpen support from Jon Cheyney, Alex Lake, and Ben Hamilton, Ellis would pick
up the victory and the Cards would cruise to a 9-3 victory over the Bison.

Leading the team offensively were Thomas Linder who went 3-for-5 with two runs scored,
Jordan Ashbrook who hit 2-for-3 with two RBI and three runs scored. Nich Pitzer also went 2-
for-5 with a triple, three RBI and a run scored.

In the second game of the day the Cardinals finished a game with Lasell College that was
postponed in the middle of the second inning the day before because of rain. Ellis pitched the
first inning the day before, but freshman Adam Collier would take over on the mound when play
resumed.

Collier pitched the rest of the game, covering six innings with five hits, one earned run against
and striking out four while giving up no walks. Collier picked up the win over the Lasers and
moved his record to 3-0 on the season.

Otterbein defeated Lasell 6-2 and were led at the plate by Sean Kettering who hit his second
home run in as many days, a solo shot to left-center. He went 2-for-4 at the plate with three RBI.
Wes Meadows also hit 2-for-2 with an RBI and a run scored.

The Cardinals are now 9-1 on the season and will not play their next game until Friday when
they have a doubleheader with Plymouth State.
