Looking to build on their 6-1 record, the Otterbein Cardinals took on the Lasell College Lasers
on the second day of their spring break trip in Fort Myers, Fla.

For the third game in a row the Cardinals got on the scoreboard early and often, scoring at least
one run in each of the first four innings of a seven inning game and winning the first game of the
doubleheader, 7-0.

The Cardinals scored two runs in the first inning of an RBI single from Thomas Linder and a
sacrifice fly from Jordan Ashbrook.

In the second inning freshman outfielder Tyler Kent hit a two-run homerun, scoring senior Scott
Staarmann and giving the Cardinals a 4-0 lead.

Junior Sean Kettering added a solo homerun in the third inning, his first of the season, and the
Cardinals would add two more in the fourth, and then hold on for the 7-0 shutout victory over the
Lasers.

Senior Wes Meadows threw a complete game, giving up four hits and striking out ten batters on
way to his second victory of season from the hill. Meadows also went 1-for-3 at the plate with an
RBI.

The second game of the doubleheader saw the Cardinals get off to a 1-0 in the first inning before
it was postponed in the bottom of the second inning because of rain.

The game will be played tomorrow after the Cardinals scheduled 10 a.m. game against Nichols
College.
