“The amount of players doesn’t bother me, I understand why the coaches do it.” said Gibson
Currently ranked first in the OAC and coming off an OAC Championship last season Otterbein’s baseball team is one of the most successful teams on campus.
According to multiple players on the team the large number of players allows for more competition within the team, and a wide range of talent for the coaches to oversee and evaluate.
The team is also one of Otterbein's largest teams with 55 players on the team. Many players do not dress for games or travel with the team.
Matthew Gibson freshman outfielder, who usually receives little playing time and occasionally doesn't get to attend games is enjoying the teams success regardless. “It’s a lot of fun playing for arguably the best team in this conference. We are all chasing the same goal and that's a championship”
Otterbein's baseball teams have always been up in numbers. Last years roster had 50 players on it.
