Sophomore Charlie LaShell has been the talk of the art building. His paintings have drawn much attention from both faculty, and students, so much that he switched his major just last week, turning his art minor into a major.
"Enter at your own risk," said LaShell about his studio space. It may look messy, but this is the palette of a master in the making.
LaShell stands back and admires some of his paintings that he has created this past semester during his independent study with painting professor Louise Captein.
After several strokes, and several steps back to look, he exhaled with frustration. There are layers upon layers of paints in all different colors and designs as LaShell searches for the perfect place to stop and call it finished.
"You're looking at several hundred dollars in supplies," said LaShell, and that's just this semester alone. Painting is one of the most expensive concentrations in the art department.
