Kurt Fortman, the junior captain and number one golfer for Otterbein, twirls his club and eyes his ball after splitting the fairway with his drive on hole four during the second round of the Gordin Classic. Fortman led the Cardinals with a three round total of 225 (75, 76, 74) to finish tied for 36th in a very talented field of players.
Junior captain, Tyler Dunfee, splits the fairway with a drive during his second round. Dunfee put together two solid rounds for the Cardinals (75, 74) but struggled in the second round shooting an 81 to finish tied 48th in the field of 70.
The third hole at Columbus Country Club is a 380-yard par four featuring a steep incline to a severely sloped green surrounded by sand traps. Columbus Country Club is a private club that was opened in 1904 and has been the host of the Gordin Classic Tournament on and off for almost a decade now.
Coach Brian Booher congratulates sophomore Johnny Peck after draining a long putt to save par. Coach Booher was not thrilled with how the team performed overall in the tournament, but was still excited to be able to compete in such a high level tournament.
