Student trustees Troy Burton and Anna Haller conducted another student summit on Thursday to give updates on campus issues such as changing the alcohol policy, instating a student activities fee and replacing Quiznos at the Roost.
Right now, Otterbein forbids any alcohol on campus, as well as any alcohol-related paraphernalia, but administrators including President Krendl were interested in hearing student perspectives on this issue.
Another issue that was discussed at this meeting was the possibility of a student activities fee for next year. According to Burton and Haller, an activities fee would provide funding for more campus events, especially more in the evenings and on the weekends.
Haller said that this issue was brought up because in a recent survey to first-year students, results showed that students wanted more activities to do on the weekends around campus.
Finally, Burton and Haller reaffirmed students that the college is searching for a replacement for Quiznos. An update on this topic, however, is that a convenience store setting is in the works for a section of the soon-to-be-empty area. t&c;
