In case you missed it:
US - The Federal Supreme Court announced on January 16th that they will be deciding on whether same-sex couples have the right to marry in the United States under the Constitution. There could be a ruling by June of this year.
WORLD - Boko-Haram, an Islamic extremist group, attacked Maiduguri, a northeastern Nigerian city on Friday. The neighboring town of Mongunu was captured by the insurgents on Sunday, making Maiduguri, a city of over 1 million people, increasingly vulnerable. These attacks coincide with US Secretary of State John Kerry’s visit to the southwestern city, Lagos, where he is encouraging the Nigerian February elections to be conducted peacefully.

There’s a storm a-comin’! While the east coast is preparing for historically high snowfall from the winter storm “Juno,” Ohio will only be receiving the fringes of the storm with 1-3 inches.
Otterbein:
The new Student Government will be having candidate information sessions all this week in Campus Center rooms 1 & 2. An email blast sent to the entire student body on Sunday night gave details about times and locations for the meetings. For more information contact csi@otterbein.edu.
Otterbein men’s and women’s Basketball teams play games at the Rike this week. The men’s team will be playing Ohio Northern at 7:30pm on Wednesday and the women’s team goes up against Muskingum at 3pm on Saturday.
The Department of Theater & Dance brings us “Festival,” a three-day show produced, designed and performed entirely by students in the department. Festival runs Thursday through Saturday at 8pm in the Campus Center pit theater. Admission is free.
