College radio is an opportunity for students to shine before settling into their career path. It gives them a space to be expressive and show off their interests and talents.
The people who sign up for showcases at WOBN bring such creative and engaging shows. Setting up for College Radio Day each year has shown me how excited students get to celebrate this free and creative space.
As the station manager, I couldn’t be prouder of the people involved with putting on events like College Radio Day and Erase the Hate Day. Everyone brings something unique, and it’s amazing to see how much heart goes into it.
When students are given the opportunity of college radio, it gives them practice in communication, marketing, and branding for themselves. It’s not just about the show. It’s about learning how to present who you are.
