Otterbein men's soccer to play for OAC title in third consecutive year

Otterbein men's soccer continues its consistent success as it challenges for another OAC title

For a third straight season, Otterbein will be in the OAC championship game.

The team features seven all-OAC team selections, including OAC freshman of the year Lincoln Wallace and senior midfielder Drew Boettcher. They are set to take on Ohio Northern on Nov. 9.

Over all time, Otterbein is 5-12-4 against Ohio Northern and 1-7-2 while playing at Ohio Northern, which will serve as the setting for this upcoming matchup. Last season, in the OAC semifinals, Otterbein came out victorious in penalty kicks to advance. However, earlier in this season, Otterbein fell 1-0 here in Memorial Stadium.

Otterbein advances to the championship following a 4-1 victory over Wilmington, a game where they outshot their opponents by 20-8. Goalkeeper Jayden Burdine finished the game with three total saves, and the freshman duo of Xavier Stocks and Lincoln Wallace both tallied an assist and a goal, respectively.

Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. at Kerscher Stadium on Sunday. A win would mark a second consecutive OAC title for Otterbein.
