Grubich awarded OAC Scholar-Athlete of the Month award

Otterbein's women's basketball team had a very successful season, capped off with another award.

Senior guard Juju Grubich was awarded Scholar-Athlete of the Month by the OAC.

Two games into her senior year, Grubich had to retire medically, but still found her role within the team.

“It was really nice to be recognized,” said Grubich, “but also being a senior and a captain, not everyone sees what is going on behind the scenes. Being able to do whatever I could for my teammates, and still being able to have a part in it even though I wasn't on the floor.”

Grubich also has been able to balance academics even with playing a role in the women's basketball program and being a student trustee at Otterbein.

“Balancing academic success with an athletic season was difficult, but I think having the support system I had really helped me,” said Grubich. “Going through all of those concussions, the athletic trainers, professors, and the entire support staff here were truly amazing. I take a lot of pride in being a student athlete, so it was really nice to get that recognition."

Grubich will be graduating in May, leaving behind a strong reputation for both academic and athletic success.
