After a horrible loss to Marietta a week ago, Otterbein came out and shut down Wilmington. The Cards ran all over Wilmington for a total of 240 yards by six different players. Austin Schlosser also improved greatly from his five interception game against Marietta.

In the first quarter Schlosser proved his worth by scoring a touchdown on the ground and through the air. Aaric Milligan however missed the extra point on the second touchdown leaving the score at 13-0. Then in the second quarter Wilmington scored their first touchdown to make it a 13-7 game. It stayed close till Cody Green scored on a four yard touchdown run. This would just be the beginning for Green.

In the second half Green ran for another touchdown and continued to dominate on the ground. He would end up running for a total of 84 yards once the game was over. He wasn’t the only one that scored on the ground. Brit Musal scored on a one yard touchdown run to make it 33-7 going into the fourth quarter. Then Wilmington scored again on a touchdown pass by Brandon Arehart which would be his only score of the game. Later in the fourth Brock Burzanko would score on an eight yard touchdown run to make the final score 40-14.

This was simply a great way to end the season after a lot of heartbreak and disappointment during the year. Coach Loth finally used his running game, which dominated during the Marietta game, and took control of this one. Schlosser looked great even though he threw an interception but hey, that’s better than throwing five. Overall this team deserved this win, especially the seniors who have worked hard for so long and to end their football career with a win. Congratulations Cards and good luck next year.
