The bowl games were announced Sunday night and the most controversial game on the list is the BCS title game. It’s the biggest game of the year and the arguments have begun as to why Alabama and LSU should not be having this rematch. I’m fine with these two teams playing each other again because clearly they are they are the best in the nation.

Others however will say, “But what about Oklahoma State? They should be in because they won their conference and Alabama didn’t.” Sure, they won their conference but they lost to Iowa State late while Alabama lost to LSU by three. During that game Alabama was clearly the better team because they had more opportunities to score and couldn’t capitalize.

Now the fans can complain all they want but the question they should be answering is who will win round 2. I think that LSU wins again and for one reason, Tyrann Mathieu. This is simply because the defenses are going to keep the game low scoring due to both of them being ranked one and two.

The special teams however is the key in this game. In the SEC Championship game Mathieu had four punt returns for an average of 29.8 yards and touchdown. He’s dangerous, plain and simple. When Mathieu gets the ball the game turns into a video game where he’s making moves left and right.

These two teams are so evenly matched that whoever you pick is a good pick. Each defense is ranked in the top two. I don’t think about the offenses because to me defenses wins championships. Special teams is where this game will be decided and don’t be surprised if one is returned for a touchdown or if field goals are missed.

The only bad thing about the BCS title game is that we will have to wait till January. I don’t think I can wait that long.
