It’s been nine weeks since I wrote that Tebow is not a good enough quarterback to be a starter. I mentioned that he had a lot of problems that would lead to his downfall. Since then I’ve changed my tune because of John Fox changing their offense to a college spread offense.

With this new style they rely more on the run and let Tebow gain passing experience each week by throwing more than the game before. I can see he is improving but is nowhere near other quarterbacks, especially rookie quarterbacks are such as Newton and Ponder. Those guys are more accurate and can read defenses better. Tebow has improved in those areas which was evident in the Minnesota game last Sunday.

Even though they are winning I don’t think that Tebow is the entire reason. This has been more of a complete team effort including the running backs and the defense keeping them in the game. In four of his seven starts the defense has kept the opposing team to less than 20 points. They also make at least one turnover a game to that leads to a touchdown which happened in the Jets game and the Vikings game.

This season Tebow is 6-1 as a starter and has taken the Broncos to first place in the division. Now Tebow is on the verge of going to his first playoff game. If he just wins just two out of his remaining four games they will win the division because Oakland will definitely lose their next two which are Green Bay and Detroit.

Tebow is starting to prove me wrong but he still has a lot of work to do. I’m really interested to see if Denver will stick with him after this year. If they do, expect Tebow to be the long-term starter for the Broncos.
