This Christmas the Lakers are shopping around for some new players to add to their roster. So far they have both Dwight Howard and Chris Paul. What?!! They want both of them? Talk about insanity but it’s not impossible.

Item 1: Dwight Howard

The Lakers have it all planned out. First they are going to trade for Dwight Howard. Their offer to the Magic will be either Andrew Bynum or Lamar Odom. Not bad. If Orlando could get both of those guys then they might be a playoff contender. They would have a new center and a power forward to work in the paint. I don’t know how the trade is going to go down but it probably will happen.

Item 2: Chris Paul

Chris Paul is a different situation. The Lakers are thinking of trading Pau Gasol for CP3 but I don’t see it happening. I think that the Hornets are going to want another young player, a power forward, and draft picks in return. Gasol is a power forward but one player for another is not enough for New Orleans. Chris Paul is too valuable to just get one. The Hornets are going to want more to have another chance to make the playoffs.

Overall it’s a good list. If the Lakers could sweeten the deal with New Orleans then it really would be Christmas in L.A. Imagine that, the Lakers with a point guard, a shooting guard, and a center. They would be the ultimate dream team because then they would hit all the key areas.

They would have the point to distribute the ball, the guard to take perimeter and close range jumpers, and the center to play in the paint. However they’ll only get Howard because they want him more and are willing to give up more than they are with Paul. CP3 would definitely stay if they got him though. Who knows? It’s not Christmas yet and maybe Santa will do a little magic to make everyone in L.A. happy.
