There are three teams in Major League Baseball that have Albert Pujols on their Christmas list. Only one will receive this gift however.

The teams in the mix are the Cubs, the Marlins, and the Cardinals. So far the Chicago Cubs are last in this race. I think they’re more interested in getting Prince Fielder who is sitting back and seeing where Pujols will go.

The Cardinals and the Marlins are the two teams that have the biggest shot to get him. The Marlins have offered Pujols a 10 year, $200 million, contract with provisions that would link him to the Marlins beyond his playing career. The Cardinals however have offered him a 10 year, $220 million, contract which is the most money on the table right now.

Some believe that Pujols will stay with the Cardinals because they are offering him more money. He has also been there for a while and has won a World Series, which might look to repeat.

Others believe that he will leave because the Marlins have moved to Miami which is 70% Latin American. They think that he would be treated like a God to them in Miami. He will also be with Ozzie Guillen, the new manager, and Jose Reyes, their new shortstop.

I think that he should stay in St. Louis because that team is good enough to win another title. He’ll also be paid more and be remembered as one of the all-time greats to play for the Cardinals. Pujols has said that he will make a decision within the next 24 hours. After that the debates will begin and I’ll just sit back and enjoy.
