First Japanese Student at Otterbein PKG
November 21Twelve Japanese students are attending Otterbein University this year, with many of them visiting as part of a study abroad agreement started in 2014 with Aichi Prefectural University in Nagakute, Aichi, Japan. Otterbein’s first Japanese student came to Westerville from Yamato, Fukushima more than a century ago. Archivist Stephen Grinch tells us about Kiyoshi Yabe, a member of the class of 1912 who went on to become a United Brethren minister. Urban Reflections: Contemporary Thai Photography exhibition at Otterbein University
November 9The Department of Art's Miller Gallery is hosting the work of Thai photographers Lek Kiatsirikajorn and Miti Ruangkritya in their debut exhibition in the United States. "Urban Reflections: Contemporary Thai Photography" observes how the 2011 floods affected Bangkok. The show can be viewed weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and weekends from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., except on holidays, through December 9.
