Imagine being seven years old again and excitedly writing a letter to an imaginary friend or beloved TV character. After the letter is folded up and hastily shoved into an envelope, it is put into the mailbox with full confidence that it will soon arrive at its destination. But since the character that is meant to receive it is imaginary, a delivery isn’t possible. Where, then, might this letter have gone?
Programs like Hulu and Netflix have given the busy college student a chance to watch their favorite TV shows and movies without sticking to the TV schedule. That is why junior health education major Lydie Dorelien, who is involved with a number of activities on and off campus, uses Hulu to keep up with all her favorite shows. Here are five shows that she has on her Hulu account:
Senior early childhood education major Cory Ott is the prime example of making your dreams a reality as the owner of The Wadsworth Footlighters Theater Production Company. Since his solo in his kindergarten musical, Ott has fallen in love with theater to the point that he just cannot leave the stage. Spending most of his middle school and high school years participating in any production he could find, it was no surprise that when he came to Otterbein he could not leave his theater life behind.
The cobblestone stage and old French houses set the scene as the lights illuminated and Les Miserables began. From the beggars who staggered onto the stage, providing a haunting reality of depravity through their immaculate voices, to the their officers who pushed them to the brink with each crack of their whips, this was more than just a musical, it was an experience.
Brand new to Otterbein, their diverse colors, loud chirps and active personalities have been the talk of the science building. Budgerigars , also known as budgies, have had their home in the aviary on the first floor in the front of the Science Building as of this past July.
Professor Simon Lawrance is known around Otterbein for his biology classes and love for Africa. But on Tuesdays, students and staff will get to know him less for his lectures and more for his dance moves.
While Otterbein is known as one of the first colleges in the United States to admit women, the information regarding the school’s first black students is blurred.
