Otterbein University offers over 70 majors and minors to students, the largest program offered is nursing. Nursing is also the largest graduate department among the five programs currently offered. Otterbein nursing provides students with clinical experiences along with opportunities to study abroad.

An up and down wrestling career didn't stop Otterbein alumnus Adi Tamarapoo from pursuing his goal of coaching wrestling. Tamarapoo is in his second season as an assistant varsity wrestling coach at Westerville South High School, just minutes from Otterbein's campus.

When you hear the word “loneliness,” the first thing you may picture is someone sitting at a lunch table, eating in solitude. For much of our lives, society and media have proclaimed that eating alone is among the worst situations imaginable for a child, teen or young adult. But why is eating deemed such a social activity? Why eating instead of walking, exercising, studying or so many other activities?

There isn't a single course on how to perfect an audition, but Otterbein Theatre and Dance students gain experience through doing it within their respective programs. Now it's as natural to them as learning their lines or dance steps.

Those involved with Otterbein University are in constant contact with My O-Zone. Whether it's checking in on COVID-19 guidelines, university updates or just trying to log onto Self Service Banner to schedule classes, My O-Zone is the hub for all things Otterbein. Still, many argue that the program is difficult to use. Once on the website, users face inaccessible links and a confusing layout, as well as the page constantly reloading itself.

After getting dropped off in a parking lot in Japan, then being tasked with building a field hospital made of tents and operating rooms became a fellow Otterbein student's mission. This was the reality of junior nursing major Joanne Theresa “JT” Davis and her medical unit during summer 2021 simulation training.

When I first started looking at colleges, I found myself drawn to Capital University. I told this to my AP Calculus teacher - an Otterbein alum - who convinced me that if I liked Capital, I would like Otterbein better. She was right.

For the past ten years, the Otterbein community has benefited from the Church of the Master's (COTM) Monday Morning Coffee (MMC) ministry. Between the hours of 9 a.m. and 11 a.m., anyone is welcome to step through the red doors and grab a donut and a cup of coffee. The team is always ready to serve outdoors or indoors, depending on the weather.

A fun fact about her is that she has seen Taylor Swift in concert three times. Sophia is the host of "Sophia's Sleepover" every Friday from 4-5 pm.

Garett Lucius ('25) is the Music Director at WOBN for 2023. He is a JAMC major with a minor in history. You can listen to his showcase "Garett's Variety Hour" on Thursdays from 7-8pm. Garett is runs Cross Country and Track and Field and spends most of his free time reading or watching soccer.

With COVID-19 numbers higher than ever and the emergence of new strains like the Omicron variant, Ohio colleges are looking for ways to best protect their students. One of the ways Otterbein University is preparing to limit the spread among students is to temporarily close the dining hall and offer to-go meals for students.
