Whether you are single or taken, a couch potato or adventurer, there are many fun and affordable things you can do on Valentine’s day. Check out these 14 things that could make your Valentine’s day awesome and unforgettable.

  1. Netflix - If you don’t already have a Netflix account, phone a friend to borrow their username and password, just don’t judge their recently watched list. You could also just buy yourself an account for only $7.99 a month.

  2. Marcus Theaters - The Marcus Crosswoods Cinema has $7.50 adult ticket on Saturday for movies. Fifty Shades of Grey times are as follows: 9:25am 10:15am 11:00am 11:30am 12:25pm 1:10pm 2:25pm 3:20pm 4:05pm 5:20pm 6:15pm 7:00pm 8:15pm 9:10pm 9:55pm 11:10pm. No judgement.

  3. Westerville Grille - Always get 10% off of your meal with your student ID. Their Valentine’s day special is a prime rib with two sides for $14.99. Take your student discount into account and add a 20% tip and your meal is only $16.18.

  4. Capital Rivalry - Go to the Otterbein versus Capital basketball games and cheer on the Cardinals. Women play at 5pm and Men at 7:30 pm.

  5. Redbox - Stay in and stay rich. The cheapest legal option of watching a movie can be found at any of the local Redbox kiosks for only $1.50. Locations include: Walmart on State Street and Walgreens and Kroger at Maxtown.

  6. Pasquales - Get some italian ambiance going with heart shaped pizzas at Pasquales. Otterbein students always have a 15% discount.

  7. Yoga Factory - Get your happy baby and downward dog on at the Yoga Factory on Broadway Street. Classes are at 8:45 and 10:15am and only $10 for students.

  8. Governor’s Smoke Shop - Gentle bachelors of refinement and taste can peruse the entire collection of the Governor’s humidor and relax in the lounge while enjoying a cigar for $8-14.

  9. Graeters - Think it’s too hot outside? Go to Graeters and cool off with a banana split for only $5.45.

  10. Music and Romance - Dress up and act classy at the Medallion Club where the Otterbein jazz ensembles are hosting their annual event Music and Romance. Enjoy the live music, swing dancing, desserts and cash bar for only $15 dollars per student.

  11. Franklin Park Conservatory - Just a short drive into Columbus, you can get warm by wandering around the botanical gardens. If you are over 21 years old go between the hours of 5:30 and 11 pm for the Valentine’s Day event. For $15 dollars you can get entrance to the gardens in addition to three tickets for wine and chocolate tastings.

  12. Chris Brown Concert - For a little splurge spend about $60 to go see the Chris Brown with Trey Songz featuring Tyga: Between the Sheets tour at Nationwide arena.

  13. OSU Hockey - Cheer for the Buckeyes on the ice while they battle it out against the University of Wisconsin Badgers. Face-off begins at 7:00pm and tickets range between $12.25 and $17.25.

  14. Skyzone - Bring you and all your friends to Skyzone. Work up a sweat by jumping around on giant trampolines, a 30 minute session is only $10 per person.
