Victory against Muskingum gains Otterbein men's basketball a spot in the OAC Tournament

The Cardinals will appear in the tournament for the first time in eight years

The Otterbein men’s basketball team continues their week of dominance with a double digit victory over Muskingum on senior night.

Otterbein came out firing and took Muskingum by storm, going on a 14-0 run within the first four minutes of the game. The Cardinals would go on another 12-2 run in the first half to keep the lead by 15 going into halftime.

This lead proved to be too much for Muskingum, as Otterbein marched up and down the court the rest of the game and won 88-68.

The Cardinals outplayed Muskingum from start to finish, leading the muskies across the stat board, shooting 51% from the floor and 36% from beyond the arc. Muskingum shot 38% from the floor and 28% from behind the three point line.

Freshman guard Dallas Patrick continues to rip apart OAC defenses with a 30 point game and shooting over 50%. Junior guard Nick Koontz added only eight points, but contributed 10 of Otterbein’s 23 assists.

With this win, the Cardinals have grabbed the eighth and final spot in the OAC Tournament, their first time going in eight years.

Otterbein will finish out the regular season with two more games this week against John Carroll and Baldwin Wallace. The Cardinals play two away games this week with John Carroll on Wednesday at 7 p.m. and Baldwin Wallace on Saturday at 3 p.m.
