How does the price of Otterbein's parking passes compare to other OAC schools?

Otterbein student parking passes are above the average price when compared to Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) colleges and universities.

The OAC is currently composed of 10 colleges and universities. The average cost of parking passes for all 10 colleges and universities is $115.50. The parking prices used in the average cost are the passes purchased by students who live on-campus for the entire academic year.

Marietta College has the lowest-priced parking pass because students and faculty are given free parking passes. All students that live on campus and all commuters receive free parking for the entirety of their time at the college.

John Carroll University has the most pricey parking pass, at a price of $300 for full-time students. Juniors and seniors are given parking spaces on the main campus while freshman and sophomores are required to park at off-site lots where daily shuttle buses go between the parking lots and main campus.

Otterbein University's parking passes cost $160 per school year making it slightly higher than the average for all OAC colleges and universities. Bill Fox, vice president for student affairs, said that money paid by students for parking passes goes into a general fund for the overall work done on campus.

There are many reasons for why colleges or universities may need to sell parking passes since it adds an extra source of revenue for schools; however, Marietta College shows that it is possible for undergraduate schools to find different ways to grow their general funds.
