After initially announcing his intent to create a system of independent universities in February, July saw Otterbein President John Comerford announce that Antioch University had become Otterbein’s first partner in this new endeavor. Questions still remain, though, about what this system is and why it’s being established in the first place.

This fall, Otterbein is partnering with Mount Carmel to offer medical care for students. Mount Carmel plans to provide virtual and in-person options for Otterbein students, while Otterbein’s physical health center will be closed for the semester.

Head coach Tyler Stephen is heading into his sixth year as the men's tennis coach and his fifth year as the women's coach.
Volleyball wrapped up the 2021 season with a 25-6 overall record and 7-2 within the OAC. Assistant coach Josie Andres said, "We did pretty well coming off of COVID season, we came out as the runner-up conference champs so we have big expectations coming into the fall. Throughout last season, we set records on how many sets we won in a row and how many matches we won in a row for our program. Sets in a row was a record throughout the OAC and then we ended up making it the furthest our program ever had, going to the Sweet 16."
Head coach Brian Booher is heading into his seventh year as the men's coach and his eighth year as the women's coach. He's looking forward to another OAC Championship this fall.
Entering his sixth year as the assistant head coach, Thomas Bambach expressed excitement about the fall season. “We are adding student athletes who can contribute right away, and we are adding others who I think have a lot of potential and a lot of upsides."
